Homemade Choco Bar Ice Cream

 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2-3 chocolate bars, chopped into small pieces

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks until they are pale yellow and frothy.
  3. Slowly pour the hot cream mixture into the egg yolks, whisking constantly to temper the eggs and prevent them from curdling.
  4. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  5. Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely chilled.
  7. Once the mixture is chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  8. During the last few minutes of churning, add the chopped chocolate bars and mix until well combined.
  9. Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  10. Serve the homemade chocolate bar ice cream scooped into bowls or cones and enjoy!

You can also experiment with adding other ingredients to your homemade ice cream, such as nuts or caramel sauce, to create different flavor combinations.
